Frindle is a light book that will leave you wanting more. Imagine harmlessly coming up with new name for something and then all of a sudden it snow balls into a monster(not literally, of course). If you like books that use a bit of humor, but also leave you with those warm "tingles" then you will love this book. Warning: this book is on a 5th grade level and 5th grade humor is applied.Almost 13 years agoteacher_1650 added a book review.
Awesome. This refreshingly honest book tells two true stories from southern Sudan. The struggle and strife that both characters endure as they "walk to water" reminded me of the strength that is within each human. The characters can be summarized best by the word persistence.Almost 13 years agoteacher_1650 added a book review.

From the guy who wrote HOOT, comes Flush. I'm reading this with one of our book groups. Let's just say it starts with a child visiting their father in jail. If that doesn't pull you right in, I'm not quite sure what will! I"ll keep you posted!Almost 13 years agoteacher_1650 added a book review.
Read this! This book is all about a boy named Max who stumbles upon a new friend named Freak. These pals could not be more different. One is tall and dumb, the other is insanely small and brilliant. Together, they form Freak the Mighty. They go on adventures and really show what it means to "have someone's back!" Some of us read this as a read aloud, but if you are not one of those people, give it a shot! You won't regret it!Almost 13 years agoteacher_1650 wants to read this book.
