The story of "Sing Down the Moon" is actually based on two years; 1863-65. The tribe, the Navaho in what now in the state of Arizona. Like other Native Americans tribes; the Navahos struggled with finding the food, being forced to live on the reservation, and few others. The Navahos remain prisoners at Fort Sumner until 1868.
