I can't wait to read this book and I love the National Geographic Books! I am super excited and cannot wait to get a hold of this!Over 6 years agoeggyolk128 added a book review.
I liked this book because it was easy to follow. This book was about a boy named John Hale trying to live in Dakota Territory. John Hale has moved from Chicago, Illinois to Dakota Territory about a year ago. The book had very few pictures because it was a chapter book. John Hale met new friends called Peter, Sven, and Rex. The Children’s blizzard struck around 10:00 a.m., when all the children were playing outside. The Children’s Blizzard was called this because it killed a lot of children. I liked the part when John called her sister as stinky as a cow. At the end of the book, John’s teacher Miss Ruell had invited John and his friends to her wedding. I would recommend this book for second and third graders. If I had the opportunity to talk to the author, I would tell the author to make the stories longer. I would want the author to make the story longer so then it would take me longer to read it.Over 6 years agoeggyolk128 has read this book.

This was a wonderful and I liked the drawings and the pictures. The famous authors were very interesting because some of them didn't like to read. The authors all had struggles in their lives. The book was interesting because they faced their fears and some of the authors even had siblings. Even though in the story it didn't look like they were going to become authors, they really did become authors. Some of the author's parents had diseases and some of the authors had diseases. I would recommend reading this book to third and forth graders. I read 20 pages each day and it was really long and took me over a week to finish reading it. I liked it and I enjoyed reading it everyday. In the beginning J.R.R.Tolkien was bitten by a Hercules baboon tarantula with was very fascinating because it was the size of a dinner plate. Some of the authors like Roald Dahl or Jeff Kinney I've heard of because I have read some of their books. I liked it when Mark Twain wore a suit that didn't fit then he had to tie the pants to his ears to make them short enough.About 7 years agoeggyolk128 has read this book.

This book doesn't have too many bright pastels and full of black and white pictures. It was very easy to read and was a page turner. I really liked the drawings and I really liked the plot because I thought it was believable and unpredictable. I wish to read another book like this. I think it was too hard for younger kids to understand. I think my friends will like it because it will take them on a mysterious adventure. I wish the book was longer because I did not want it to end.Over 7 years agoeggyolk128 has read this book.

I am in the second grade and I thought the book was easy for my grade level, but I love the colors and pictures of the book. The story of the book was exciting and unpredictable. I felt the characters were believable and made me keep on reading more of the book. I would like to see more of these books in the future.Over 7 years ago
